Grandma's Birthday

Today is grandma Perla's birthday! She has decided that rather than go out for dinner with the family, she will invite everyone over to her house. Since the original invitation was extended a few days ago, a few people have somehow managed to be added to the guest list. We now have 15 people coming over to her apartment tonight. This would be fine, were it not for the fact that grandma has been spending all day (and I mean ALL day) cooking for the festivities. She has prepared several quiches, three different salads, the best empanadas I've ever tasted and a number of tasty desserts. Of course I am very excited to sample all her hard work, but I would much rather someone else do the cooking so that she can go out and enjoy herself.

I've tried to convince her all day to come out with me at least for a little bit, but she remains hard at work. I guess everyone has fun their own way. So I've gone out for a walk around town, and found an internet cafe. I'm now writing to you from a booth right next to a girl who seems to be laughing hysterically at an email she received. Guess it must not be one of those forwards...

Anyway, I'm going to go back to base camp and at least turn on some music in the kitchen. No one said you can't cook and dance at the same time. I'm going to show her the blog later today, so please join me in wishing her a very very happy birthday!
