PARIS!

I can still hardly believe it , but I'm going to Paris! And not Paris, Texas either. Oh no, Paris, France my friends. As in the Paris that has the Louvre (which I will view with new eyes in large part thanks to Robert Langdon), excellent wine, and French people looking down on you. I am tres excited! I'm leaving this weekend and I will be back in a week. Now I know that a week is not enough time to see everything, but for a girl who's been dreaming of visiting France since she was 13 years old this doesn't matter in the least. My friend Jill (enter a choir of angels singing), has found an amazing opportunity for us to travel. She has a friend who lives in Paris who has agreed to host us for a few days, and being the excellent travel agent that she is also found extremely discounted tickets. Jill, this is the best birthday present ever! She works for STA travel, and (since my gratitude knows no bounds), I will now do some shameless promotion for her. I'm not sure how much access I will have to computers over there, but I will try to update the blog whenever possible. I have already looked up how to ask for a cyber cafe in French in my translation book, so I think it'll work out nicely.
